The chair of Malew Commissioners says plans for major investment in a Ballasalla playground will create ‘an area for the whole parish community’.
The local authority published designs to reinvigorate Feigh Keign field on Abbot’s Way last week, with plans for new play equipment, benches and other features.
Issues with drainage and exposure will have to be overcome as part of the building work says head of the board Barbara Brereton.
A budget of up to £100,000 has been mooted for the project, a seventh of the local authority’s budget, which will be funded through borrowing.
The Feigh Keign area was left to the ‘young people of the parish of Malew’ by the Moore-Clague family, with Malew Commissioners made trustees.
