Awareness day for the thousands of Isle of Man residents who may suffer with kidney inefficiency

The Isle of Man are getting involved in World Kidney day today.

The aim of the national day is to raise awareness of the importance of kidneys to peoples overall health.

1 in 10 people are effected with some form of Kidney Inefficiency, that's around 8,000 Isle of Man residents.

Pam Makin is Senior Sister of intensive care at the renal unit at Nobles

She told 3FM her teams are at the Strand Shopping Center al day today with a health promotional stand.

All monies raised from the various events will go to The Jack Quirk Renal Fund.
