Autism specialist hopes strategy will bring about better understanding of the condition

The more people that could secure a diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum, the better their quality of life will be.

That's the opinion of a leading autism specialist on the Island, who has been speaking after the Island's autism strategy implied there's just under 1500 Islanders on the spectrum. 

Feedback on our Facebook page implied the total would be much more if it wasn't so difficult to secure a diagnosis, with lengthy waiting lists.
