Douglas Council has been made aware of two men impersonating staff to gain entry to social houses.
Officials say the men are enquiring about works required to the property and once they've gained entry, personal items have been taken.
The Council is asking the public to be vigilant and always ask staff to produce their identification.
They add If this can't be produced to now allow them to enter your home, to ring the police immediately and call the Housing section on 696435.
