Authorities have been aware of a text messaging scam which is targeting Island residents.
The constabulary says members of the public have been receiving bogus messages from someone claiming to be from NatWest Bank.
Officers are warning people not to click on the links attached in the message, not reply to it and simply delete it.
Police are hoping people can pass on the warning to others, particularly for the more vulnerable in communities.
