Local authorities should be able to buy properties on the Island if they're left to fall into a bad state by their owners.
That's according to North Douglas MHK David Ashford - he'll raise the idea in the House of Keys next week.
During questions he'll ask the Infrastructure Minister if there are any plans to give councillors and commissioners more powers to tackle dilapidated buildings.
Mr Ashford says the current law doesn't work:
Repairs on Peel Power Station to get underway
Manx Care doctor survey to be discussed by Tynwald
Weather warning for snow tonight
MHK queries safety at primary school in Ballabeg
Gales put two ferry sailings at risk tonight
Should the Island throw a birthday party for Barry Gibb?
