There was a drop in attendance at the Castletown Festival according to one of the organisers, who says numbers were ‘considerably down’.
Access to the event last Saturday was partially cut off by an international cycling race, which took place on the Billown circuit as part of the HSBC UK Road Series.
Colin Leather says the clash was ‘unfortunate’, but festival planners just had to ‘grin and bear it’.
Despite this, the Castletown commissioner adds those who did attend ‘thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and hopes the event can grow ‘even bigger and better’.
