Around a quarter of teaching staff on the Island are over the age of 50.
Education Minister Julie Edge was asked in Tynwald how many teachers in schools are over 50 or over 55, and what proportion these figures represent of teaching staff overall.
There are 92 teachers aged 56 and over, with teachers under 30 making up 17% of the workforce.
There are a total of 818 teachers, with 35 across other services.
