There'll be a new captain of a parish on the Island soon, according to the Lieutenant Governor.
Government House says it's accepted the resignation of Ray Gawne, current captain of the Parish of Arbory.
As a result, there'll now be a selection process for a new postholder, with an announcement due in the near future.
The role can be traced back to Viking times, and today is best known for calling candidates to requisition meetings in the run-up to elections.
