Appeal to boat users to help find missing rocket thought to be in Manx waters
An appeal has gone out to people on the Isle Of Man to help find a missing space rocket.
A team of Bolton sixth form students at Canon Slade School and Turton High School working with the Bolton Science and Technology Centre launched the Black Streak rocket from the Mull of Galloway, which can be seen from the IOM, aiming to reach a maximum height of 17.5km beating the current record of 10.5km.
But the nose of the rocket containing vital instruments including those which would confirm the height reached by the rocket disappeared and it's believed they could be in Manx waters.
In an exclusive interview with 3FM, Project leader Torben Steeg told us what happened:
