A man’s been remanded in custody after a court heard he’s accused of stamping on his girlfriend’s head.
Daniel Woodbridge of Larrivane Meadows in Andreas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He hasn’t yet entered a plea to a charge of assault causing grievous bodily harm on October 4.
Prosecutor Barry Swain said Mr Woodbridge turned violent when his girlfriend dumped him at her home in Peel, punching her in the head and throwing her to the ground before stamping on her.
The court heard she suffered significant injuries, and is undergoing surgery for a fractured cheekbone.
There was no bail application, and Mrs Hughes remanded him to the Isle of Man prison to appear again on December 1.
