Amber weather warnings are in place across the Island today as the effects of Storm Brendan are set to hit Manx shores.
A notice for gale force winds is in effect between 9am and 5pm with gusts of up to 70mph expected from late morning until early afternoon which could cause damage to buildings and 'significant amounts' of debris from broken or fallen trees.
Meanwhile a second warning for coastal overtopping will also be in force from 10am until 4pm with Ronaldsway Met Office saying promenades in Douglas, Laxey, Ramsey and Castletown are the most likely to be affected along with Shore Road in Rushen.
Severe south to south-east winds are expected to cause large amounts of water to wash onto exposed roads for several hours.
