An amber weather warning for coastal overtopping will come into force later tonight.
The Met Office has confirmed it’ll be in place from 9pm until 12.30 tomorrow.
Areas likely to be affected include Douglas promenade, Castletown prom, Shore Road (Rushen) and Laxey & Ramsey promenades.
Forecasters predict strong southerly winds will lead to moderate coastal overtopping with significant debris brought onto exposed locations.
Water levels may also be high enough to present a small risk of minor coastal flooding to the lowest lying inner harbour areas, including the Tongue in Douglas and parts of Castletown harbour.
As a result, Douglas promenade is closed to vehicles from 7pm tonight until 6am tomorrow morning.
