Allinson calling minister post an 'honour'

The Islands new Education, Sport & Culture Minister says it's an 'honour' to be taking up the post.

Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson is starting his first ministerial role, taking over from Graham Cregeen MHK who's been appointed Home Affairs Minister following the death of Bill Malarkey MHK last month.

Dr Allinson adds he's looking forward to working with students, teachers and parents to provide 'an excellent education for children and young people of our Island'.

Since being elected as an MHK in 2016, he's worked as Chair of Manx Utilities and as a political member for the Cabinet Office and Department of Home Affairs.
