Alleged fire safety failings at Glen Mona Hotel

The proprietor of the Glen Mona Hotel will stand trial after being accused of six fire certificate offences.

53-year-old David Jones appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday where he denied breaching the requirements at the Maughold establishment between August last year and April this year.

The court heard the alleged breaches included not having the fire alarm and emergency lighting serviced - they were discovered by two firefighters conducting an annual inspection.

The case has been adjourned for a pre-trial review to take place on October 20th - Mr Jones has been bailed until then.
