The Island's Home Affairs Minister says all police officers are insured to carry out their duties - whether regular or special.
In Tynwald this week, he faced questions from North Douglas MHK David Ashford about whether special constables need different insurance policies.
But Bill Malarkey told the court all government employees are covered by the government's insurance.
And he said special constables are no different:
