All Island pubwatch gearing up for Christmas

The Pubwatch scheme have launched their annual festive drive to get the message across and stop incidents of anti-social behaviour blighting other people's nights out.

Since the threat of an all Island ban was introduced the scheme has proven relatively effective with only a handful of people in Douglas having the ban imposed on them.

They now operate a text messaging system which means word will reach all of the pubs in that area if someone has been thrown out for drunken behaviour.

Pubwatch Chairman Steven Mcdowell has said they have the power to impose bans for any length of time, even extending up to a life time.
