The Island's Abortion Reform Bill has passed its final hurdle in Legislative Council.
Yesterday MLCS discussed a total of 71 tabled amendments to Dr Alex Allinson's bill, including nine proposed changes from the Island's bishop - Peter Eagles.
However, attempts by the Bishop to introduce clauses to restrict the bill were rejected.
MLC Bill Henderson asked for the third and final reading of bill to be held at the same sitting, it passed its third reading with all members voting in favour, except for the Bishop voting against.
The bill will now be returned to the House of Keys for final approval, before it can be put forward for royal assent.
