A1 works to start at St Johns

Motorists are being reminded works are beginning on the main Douglas to Peel road today.

Repairs and resurfacing will take place on the stretch of the A1 between Ballaleece Bridge in St Johns up to Corlett's Quarry in German in a project expected to last up to three weeks.

The DOI is advising the initiative will be done in stages starting today in St Johns, with a 40mph speed restriction on the section and a 20mph limit around the works site.

24-hour temporary traffic lights will also be in place around construction with one lane left open for traffic at all times.
