From Wednesday, a positive lateral flow test result alone will mean you have to self isolate for 10 days, without the need for a PCR test.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan has made the announcement in a briefing this evening.
LFD’s have been shown to be reliable and are readily available, so the need for a PCR test following a positive result will no longer be required.
Further, the self-isolation period can be reduced if you have two negative lateral flow tests a minimum of 24 hours apart.
This means you no longer have to isolate if you test negative before the 10 days are up.
The government asks you record your test results online, where you’ll receive an email containing guidance and isolation requirements.
PCR testing will still be used for travel and hospital screenings and those who are symptomatic but have tested negative at home.
