A £9 million project to improve the runways at Ronaldsway airport has been completed on time and within budget.
The government says it took more than 45,000 hours of work over two phases to strengthen and resurface large areas of the runways and install new LED lighting, along with other repair work.
Progress was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic but recommenced in the spring and work was finished by the end of September deadline.
Rob Callister MHK, Member of the Department of Infrastructure with responsibilities for Ports, says this type of work is essential to the smooth running of transport connections to and from the Island, and will place us on a firm footing for many years to come.
