900 students to receive GCSE results tomorrow

It’s a nervous wait for around 900 students from the Island’s five secondary schools who are preparing to receive their GCSE results.

The results, which mark the end of two years of study in Key Stage 4, will be released tomorrow (Thursday). 

Depending on the outcome students will choose to continue their education in school by staying onto sixth form, move to the college or enter the world of employment. 

Last year 86 per cent of students chose to stay in education with 54 per cent staying on to do A-Levels. 

Tony Wild, who has political responsibility for employment and skills, said help will be on hand for the 15 and 16 year olds:
