Patients on the Isle of Man will receive better care when a new mental health unit opens its doors at the end of this month.
Over £7 million has been spent building Manannan Court which will replace Grainagh Court on the Noble's Hospital estate:
It is 30 per cent larger than the former facility with 26 beds and incorporates safety measures which should reduce the risk of self harm.
The Department of Health and Social Care says it's a move away from the 'institutionalised' view many people associate with facilities like this - Minister Kate Beecroft agrees:
