Over 6,300 people have signed a petition against the introduction of a new so called ‘toilet tax’.
It was handed in to Tynwald today before the February sitting of the court.
The Water and Sewerage Authority is attempting to introduce a £50 charge for all households with a toilet from April 1st.
Angry members of the public say they believe costs related to the removal and sanitation of waste should be the responsibility of government.
The petitioners say the average household is already struggling with the rising cost of living.
