60% price hike for dumping fridges at amenity site

Getting rid of a fridge or freezer at the Western Civic Amenity Site? Brace yourself for huge price rises!

On Facebook the site says next year will see higher prices to dispose of fridges and freezers because of new UK waste policies.

As a result, disposing of small fridges and freezers will see a 67 per cent rise from £34 to £57 while larger ones will go up 41 per cent from £53 to £75.

Meanwhile, extra-large American fridge-freezers will go up from £87 to £131, a rise of 50 per cent.

It's thought other sites will also need to raise their prices.
