Reports Say Figure Could Be As Many As 8 Dead
It's now been confirmed that six people have been killed in the Manx2 aircraft crash in Cork.
Previously there had been unconfirmed reports that eight had died.
The plane had been transporting 10 passengers and two crew and was en route from Belfast when it crashed on landing in fog at Cork Airport.
According to the Irish Aviation Authority website the aircraft came down to land in low visibility, and after a second attempt at landing it crashed.
They say there is fire and debris scattered over a wide area.
The crash is currently being investigated by the Air Accident Unit of the Irish Dept of Transport.
Cork Airport has now closed.
Manx2.com have said they are aware of an incident in Cork this morning and will issue further information as soon as possible.
