An official report says phone companies should share masts to reduce the number of 5G sites on the Isle of Man.
The Department for Enterprise makes the recommendation in a report which is on this month's Tynwald agenda.
It says 5G technology means more masts will be needed than for 3G or 4G, and they'll have to be closer to customers to work properly.
As a result, it says new legislation should encourage phone companies to share sites in order to cut costs and avoid unnecessary duplication.
