45 unique scripts from Island-based and Manx writers have been submitted to the MannIN Shorts screenplay competition.
Winners will have their screenplays turned into a short film and could have 50 per cent of their production budget - up to £7,500 - made available by Isle of Man Film.
Screenplays will be read by Sky One hit writer Anne Marie O’Connor before being passed to Hollywood reader, Julie Gray, to whittle the entries down to just six.
Co-director of the scheme and producer Dave Armstrong says he was both surprised and excited by the number of entries:
