The Department of Infrastructure says it spent almost £40,000 hiring cones and traffic lights last year.
A Freedom of Information request to the department asked how much it spent on temporary traffic lights, traffic cones and signs from Watling Street Works.
In its response, the DOI said it couldn't separate the costs of lights, signs and cones.
But it said last year it spent a total of £39,978 with the company on traffic management equipment.
