A four-year-old boy who's spent nearly a month in hospital after accidentally swallowing a battery, is finally allowed to go home.
Kaiden Taylor was playing with a remote control last month and somehow managed to release the button battery, proceeding to swallow it.
His Nana - who was with Kaiden at the time - noticed immediately and took him up to A&E.
It was decided he would have to receive medical treatment in the UK and was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.
Now, his Dad - Ryan- says 'after a long 27 days' Kaiden is finally able to go home, describing the experience as 'stressful and terrifying.'
In an update to 3FM, Ryan says initially the battery was inches away from going through Kaiden's esophagus and into his blood vessels and near a main artery.
Ryan added 'I would like to say a massive thank you to every nurse and doctor/consultant for everything they have done for Kaiden since been at Alder hey and making sure he is still with us today. I would also like to thank all my family and friends for their support, especially my mum, she has been amazing I could not of done all of this with out her. Please please take note and make sure your children can not get hold of button batteries, it can course serious damage or even be fatal. if this does happen to you get medical help immediately! we are lucky Kaiden is still with us today!'
