24 Hour Phone Service Offered by Doctors to be Scrapped From July 1st
We’ve been asking for your opinions on the Government’s controversial decision to bring an end to MEDS, the overnight phone service which see’s a GP on call to field any medical emergencies you might have.
As it stands doctors provide the cover 24 hours a day seven days a week, and are on hand to give consultations, helpful advice and in extreme cases will offer home visits.
This is being scrapped as a money saving measure.
We’ve been getting your messages on the matter, Christine said she thinks it’s a terrible idea as she has a small child and has come to rely on the service, Viv too doesn’t agree with the idea saying it’ll lead to the A&E department being over-ran, while Dave said it’s another bad move from the Government all in the name of saving a few quid.
