A man's been fined £300 after an argument with his girlfriend saw him spend Christmas Day behind bars.
30-year-old Terrance James McRandle, of no fixed abode, appeared at Douglas Courthouse this week after spending the festive period in a police cell.
Police were called to his girlfriend's home on Allen Street in Douglas just before 9.30pm on December 25 - he'd become abusive after an argument about an ex-partner.
McRandle knocked over a coffee table which he used to pin the woman to the sofa before kicking it across the room.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of provoking behaviour - McRandle's advocate said he was '10 out of 10 drunk' adding: "He feels very ashamed of his actions."
Sentencing McRandle Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £125 and bound him over to keep the peace for 12 months.
