30 per cent of unemployed are in their twenties

873 people were out of work at the end of January - an increase of 12 from the month before. 

 

Despite this it's the lowest figure for the first month of the year since 2012. 

 

70 per cent of those not working are men - 30 per cent of all long term unemployed are aged between 20 and 29.
