A local beach cleaning group yesterday collected more than 30 bags of rubbish from a beach in Port St Mary.
Beach Buddies volunteers took on Perwick Bay and were joined in their efforts by members of Port St Mary Lifeboat who helped transfer the rubbish back to the harbour.
Among the finds were a Russian tube of aftershave lotion which it’s believed could have been washed overboard from a fishing vessel.
Beach Buddies has been running beach cleaning events across the Island for the last six weeks. In that time more than 250 bags of rubbish have been collected.
