The Department of Education says it wants to spend £3.6 million giving a Douglas school a facelift.
Minister Graham Cregeen says the cash would improve facilities at St Mary's Primary School on Somerset Road.
The money would pay for five new classrooms, two new lifts, and cladding for the outside of the building.
Mr Cregeen will ask Tynwald to back the project when the court sits this month.
