28 per cent of young people on the Isle of Man who were questioned for a survey on life say they have been bullied in the last year.
Almost 1500 children aged between 11 and 18 were surveyed by the Children’s Services Partnership to gauge their opinions on things like school, social influences and aspirations.
Of those who admitted to being bullied four out of five said the schools had dealt with the problem effectively – 28 per cent said the bullying took place via social media.
The responses to the survey will be used by the Department of Education and Children to plan future services and support.
