A Santon man has been hit in the pocket after being caught with a gram of cannabis.
29-year- old Jonathan Stewart, of Main Road, was stopped by police in Douglas just before midnight on July 9.
Officers had concerns over the manner of his driving - when they spoke to him he appeared 'startled' and they could smell the Class B substance.
At Douglas Courthouse this week Stewart pleaded guilty to possession of the drug.
The court heard he'd handed over 1.2 grams of Cannabis Bush - concealed in a chewing gum container - which had a street value of £24.
Stewart had told the officers it was for his own personal use but in interview wouldn't accept possession of it was illegal.
Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes fined him £400 and ordered him to pay court costs of £125.
