The 22-year-old man who fled Police custody on Friday afternoon was charged with escaping from lawful custody, criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon.
Prison officers were escorting the man to an appointment in Douglas when he made his escape bid.
He was later arrested in the Pulrose area and remanded back into custody on Saturday afternoon.
He is currently serving a 6-year sentence for drugs offences.
