Proposed 20mph zones will be reviewed after they've been brought in.
That's according to Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood, who faced a Tynwald question for written reply from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas.
The monitoring phase will see an interim review after six months, followed by a full review after a year.
They'll analyse speed and journey times, as well as crashes and road safety - with further traffic calming measures brought in if needed.
