The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has confirmed that this year's IOM Food and Drink Festival is cancelled.
The department says while the news will disappoint some, it cancelled so it could use the budget to drive new initiatives to promote local producers in exciting new ways.
It says these include an increased presence at the Southern and Royal Manx Agricultural shows, new events for showcasing on and off-Island food buyers, and an enhanced guide to showcase Manx produce.
DEFA says it's also collaborating with the Department for Enterprise to explore further opportunities for the year ahead.
