Work is well underway to modernise the kitchens of over 230 council houses.
The scheme will cost Douglas Council around £2.2 million and will see improvements made to kitchen units that have been in place for over 20 years.
The money for the scheme has come from government and will be paid back over a period of 15 years.
The kitchen makeovers will not include ‘white goods’ only work surfaces and cupboards.
