15 arrested on 'Festive Friday'

Officers arrested 15 people overnight for a range of offences including being drunk and disorderly, possessing drugs and assault. 

 

There were also people arrested for drink driving - one driver smashed into a road sign and damaged their car so badly they broke down a few hundred yards later.

 

The Roads Policing Unit stopped 71 vehicles with defects - three of which had expired tax - with a number of motorists also observed disobeying traffic signals.
