A court’s heard a teenage boy became so violent staff at Noble’s Hospital had to evacuate the public from a waiting room in the Accident and emergency unit.
The 14 year old from Douglas, who can’t be identified because of his age, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He hasn’t entered pleas to charges of using threatening words or behaviour and assaulting police officers on July 14.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court the boy deliberately cut his finger and was being treated at the hospital when he became extremely abusive and aggressive.
Police were called, and he kicked two officers before spitting in the back of a police van and at another officer when he was taken into custody.
He also used his own blood to write profanities on a cell wall and threw a cup of water over a police officer in the custody suite at Police headquarters.
Magistrates refused a bail application and remanded him into secure accommodation.
He’ll appear in court again on July 22 and shouted abuse as he was taken from the dock.
