Douglas Borough Council has set aside a significant sum of money to refurbish one of the town’s most prominent squares.
Woodbourne Square will have £100,000 spent on renewing the tarmac paths, painting the perimeter railings, installing new benches and upgrading the drainage system.
The sundial in the centre of the square will also be restored.
The council decided it was time the square was given a new lease of life.
In an effort to keep the square a green and pleasant area a reminder has gone out to dog owners that their animals are not allowed in any of the town garden squares.
