Phone company Sure says it'll trial the latest internet technology on the Isle of Man later this year.
The firm says it's currently tendering to find a supplier that'll allow it to launch a 5G network.
It's hoping to appoint a partner in the new few months and says the new network could be up to 40 times faster than its current 4G infrastructure.
Group chief executive Ian Kelly says it's an opportunity for the Isle of Man to be at the forefront of mobile innovation.
