People encouraged to apply for MT scheme

Charities and community groups are being encouraged to apply for an award scheme from Manx Telecom.

MT's It's Our Community Awards are open to any charity, group or individual who needs help in funding a bright idea which can benefit the community with amounts between £100 and £1,000 up for grabs.

Last year saw twelve Island organisations benefit from the awards which funded requests from a variety of different areas including supplying costumes and props for a theatre production to training for a bereavement councillor.

Since the initiave started, over £70,000 has been donated by the telecoms provider to good causes.

All entries will be reviewed by a judging panel with the winners to be announced in November.

Anyone wanting to apply can do so by filling in the form at www.mt.im/itsourcommunity before the deadline on September 30.
