New mobile category for Taste awards

Mobile eateries will get the chance to win awards under a government contest that currently only includes restaurants.

A new category has been created for mobile food vans, casual eateries and pop-up venues in the Department of Economic Development's Taste and Harvest Awards.

Departmental member with responsibility for Tourism Rob Callister MHK, says it's important to support the growing street food movement on the Island.

Those who meet assessment standards will be promoted through the Taste Guide and the government's visitisleofman.com website.
