PwC's new director of actuarial services has warned there are 'big challenges on the horizon' for the local market.
Johann Marais has been promoted to the position after joining the company in 2007 - he has more than 14 years of experience in actuarial consultancy roles.
He says the challenges stem from market volatility due to the EU Referendum vote and regulatory changes including introduction of risk based capital requirements.
The PwC practice started with one person and has grown to a team of five consultants with ambitions to continue growing it 'even further'.
