Manx Telecom's chief executive says the takeover by Jersey Telecom and CVC is about corporate growth, and not redundancies.
Gary Lamb says combining the two firms will bring economies of scale and benefits for customers over time.
That could mean more 5G coverage for the Island, although 20 new masts would need to be installed.
But he says the changes aren't about job cuts.
