Manx company plans leisure village

A Douglas company has revealed plans to create a £100 million leisure village in Yorkshire, creating 500 jobs in the UK.

Ballan Ltd, which is registered in Hill Street in Douglas, has applied for permission to build the development in Hellifield.

The 340-acre Kellwell Point Leisure Village scheme would include a leisure centre and swimming pool, a hotel with 100 bedrooms and up 300 tourist lodges.

Craven District Council will consider the plans in the near future.
